Deborah McAllister 720-299-1916, email: debbymcallister@hotmail.com
Rain Date: Saturday September 27
Event Location:
We will meet at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center just outside the park, at 9AM. There is an entrance fee of $20 per car into the Park so bring your National Parks pass if you have one. A year long pass into RMNP is $35. There are other painting locations outside the park boundaries too. This is the height of the Fall colors and the many elk come down into the low areas and will commence the annual ritual of bugling. Estes Park is a quaint town and the natural beauty spreads out in every direction.
We will furnish some area maps via email if you contact us to confirm you are coming! Park maps are available free when you enter RMNP. We can point out artists’ favorite areas to paint inside the park.
If you require some information before you book a hotel, please let us know. As this is one of the busiest times in the park, we recommend you book now! Bring a friend and Carpool as the traffic in the park is heavy at this time.
Directions: From I-25 take Hwy 34 or 36 to Estes Park, drive east through west through town and turn left at Moraine Ave which is hwy. 36. Follow this road and veer to the right as it curves. Follow this road a few miles till you see the Visitor Center on the left before you get to the park entrance.
Special Instructions:
Meet other participants here (Beaver Meadows Visitor Center) at 9AM for a group photo. Muffins will be available in the morning; bring your own coffee. Bring a lunch.
For anyone who wants to paint at Bear Lake, the parking lot might be full, but there is a shuttle parking lot on the road to the lake and a shuttle up to Bear Lake.
For anyone who wants to stay we will meet for dinner at a local restaurant. More information when you arrive in the morning.
Be prepared for cold weather, its often windy, sunscreen is definitely a good idea. Cell phones don’t work in most of the Park but usually do work in the town of Estes Park.
Come enjoy the camaraderie and the majesty of Rocky Mountain National Park!
